Notice period, early join

My current company notice period is two months 23-Dec-2024 to 20-feb-2024. But my new employer asking for early join ie 3rd of feb! I requested for early relieve to My current employer. Verbally they agreed to relieve two weeks early but now they not ready to relieve early. They want me to complete two months notice period. My new employer asking to join early! What can I do? Lack of resources and clarity to do experimental research. Disparity in salary and appraisal is a major concern which creates frustration among many faculties. GITAM could easily implement govt. like salary structure. This would substantially reduce the grievance among the staff.
