Employer’s Response

Transparency and democracy are two important pillars of the ethos in the school. Any form of autocracy is discouraged at all levels including the management level. A hierarchy free environment is strongly encouraged and, needless to say, all forms of politics are strongly discouraged. It is usually the people who thrive on politics who complain about the environment in the school, when their tricks don't work as they wish.

Employer’s Response

An autocratic principal would find it very difficult to work in this space since all the staff including the helper staff are fully empowered to be free to express themselves. Any kind of authority based domination would be resisted by all in the environment including the students. Principals are required to be friendly and firm and keep the team together rather than authoritative and dominating and divide and rule. The management clearly does not support anyone who tries to use their authority to change this environment. We nurture a very informal and friendly work environment where people are free to work at any time of their choice. Some authoritative people may not like or suit this kind of environment.
