Dislikes
Great work opportunity and academic growth environment. GD Goenka university is equipped with world class laboratories and expert faculties. Research is an integral part of course curriculum.

University has the vision and focus when it comes to academic matters. Teachers are well respected and it is safe to work.
Infrastructure of the university is more than adequate.
Dislikes
Work life balance is really bad.
1. Leave policy is not transparent and sanctioning them is cumbersome. Pitfalls in leave rules deliberately deny using well earned leaves.
2. Faculty are held back on evenings without any notice. No consideration is given to plans they might have. No compensation is provided for the same.
3. One working saturday every month where no work is done for the most of the year. Was not informed of this during interview or even mentioned in the offer letter.
Administrative issues
1. Most administration work is mismanaged and excessively chaotic.
2. HR and accounts are severely understaffed, with other departments not so far behind.
3. Most policies of leave, reimbursement, research, promotions are on a need to know basis. Shouldn't they be on the website?
4. Admissions / marketing department is hardly doing enough. Admissions is lagging behind every term.
Salary Issues
1. Salary is only sent after 15th of every month.
2. Frequent delays in salary even after 15th.
3. Yearly appraisal is low.
4. Accounts department does not help in showing tax deductible items on the salary. Extra tax is being deducted every month because of this refusal.
Online portal issues
1. Online portal is very badly designed. Unintuitive and cumbersome.
2. Marking attendance is especially problematic for multiple classes on the same date.
3. Basic functionalities and tools available elsewhere on other university portals are missing here.
Benefits
1. Healthcare plan only on paper. No other insurance or wellness plans provided.
2. No financial plans provided.
3. No incentive schemes or bonuses provided.
4. No employee discounts or assistance programs provided.
5. Minimal transportation allowance provided in salary just to show within breakdown.
