You always feel good when working for a company with very popular and good brands in its portfolio. But it is a short-term kick! The company also has an excellent culture at the macro level when applied to all employees compared to peers.

Dislikes

Too much Red Tapeism leads to very low work satisfaction. Absolutely zero effort on employee career progression/promotions/skill development. The culture at the micro level is spoilt by lazy managers who only market themselves as good managers in front of VPs but do nothing for their reportees.

Women are subjected for inappropriate behaviour ( ambition box is not allowing certain words to be written ) and when you reach HR, they force you to leave rather than addressing concerns. In DIAGEO, the salary is good as compared to any other alco Breverage company. But the work life and personal life balance is very poor. There is more than 16 hours of work in a day. And in month ends it becomes 22/23 hours too in some days.

Its Brands. You feel good working for the company that company that own strong brands like JW, Smirnoff etc. Manageable work schedule except during the month ends and year ends. Structured processes resulting in less risk at job as processes are set strong.

It’s a very free atmosphere and culture, especially the managers. They do make us do lot of work, projects, improvements etc but I have never heard that any managers are controlling their people in terms of breaks, late login or early logout. As the people also are very responsible which keeps the environment very much calm and compose.

Dislikes

The structure or planning of organisational changes or communication can be improved, most of the time the communication do not reach everyone and at least not in a way they understand or participate. Mostly due to generic information passing via email or 1 or 2 sessions in zoom. This can be improved to make it more engaging but making it visually appealing.
