The issues are serious and reflect deep-rooted problems in employee treatment and workplace ethics. 1. Poor Work-Life Balance: Taking leave is often met with resistance, and requests for time off can result in public reprimands. Even after completing scheduled hours, employees are frequently held back for extended shifts without any productive tasks, leading to unnecessary exhaustion and frustration. 2. Toxic Management Practices: Many managers, likely under intense pressure from the top, have become overbearing micromanagers, creating a highly stressful environment. Instead of focusing on productivity and growth, employees are constantly subjected to excessive control, with little room for professional respect or acknowledgment of their time. 3. HR Mismanagement: The HR department’s approach leans heavily toward control rather than support, which has a demoralizing effect on the entire workforce. Rather than fostering a positive atmosphere, the management discourages new talent and professional growth. 4. Unethical Financial Deductions: Guards face unfair salary deductions, including charges for uniforms and registration. The company charges guards INR 1,000 as a registration fee, and an additional INR 6,000 is deducted for uniforms—despite the fact that the client is billed INR 200 per month (amounting to INR 2,400 annually) for uniform expenses. These deductions add a heavy financial burden to ground-level employees, raising ethical concerns about fair treatment and compliance. Additionally, guards are often treated disrespectfully, which further affects morale. 5. Lack of Organizational Stability: Checkmate Services seems to be struggling financially, with a questionable focus on gaining clients at the expense of healthy margins and fair practices.
