I joined BNP paribas as a java developer to work in a newly formed team. We are doing development from scratch using all latest technologies. Team strength is 14 and still there is huge work. Work environment in my team is similar to a typical product based company . Work life balance is good. We have 10 daus mandatory leave each year. People can go on long vacations like months.

Dislikes

If I was a part of existing team then no challenging work. All other teams have legacy applicarions developed using decades old technologies . I live in thane and going to office by office bus is hectic. Canteen food is pathetic.Snacks and breakfast is even worse. Gym is a very tiny room. Comapny is split across wings, floors.

Totally depends on the department and team you work on if you are a bit pro-active in work and take ownership you can easily shine . TALK > WORK, keep blabbering stuff, congrats you are the manager!

Teams in India act like they are owned by onsite team, whereas in the onsite they see us as equals and actually treat you better if they believe you work well. Managers are the laziest people I have met on earth, THEY JUST DON'T WORK. My lead has no idea what is going on in the team and so is his manager but all of them want high quality code delivered, too much of politics and keep repeating a nonsensical word called "VISIBILITY" you need to do that and this for that, but they don't respect the people who do actual required work, BNP is nice if you can sweet talk, suck up to people and don't learn new tech and while away your time , in the beginning of your career its not a good place to be. don't have proper flow for training new people on team...Read More
