It was a wonderful experience during my tenure, a lot of work experience, gained plenty of knowledge in the medical field within a very few years of work there, nevertheless work culture in amrita is compared to any other hospitals in this world.

The institution have good apparatuses and it's accessible to all. Most people are friendly, and everything is in one floor. That's the big benefit. You have freedom to try out your ideas. They have many collaboration projects, which is an advantage. But everything depends on your supervisor. Choose your supervisor carefully. If you can survive there, then you can survive anywhere.

Only a handful people finishes their Doctoral work in 5 years. And if you are working on pure bio, it will take more time since the DRC panel members especially the head will ask you to do more and more. I have felt that the number of results/graphs plays an important role in pleasing everyone than the quality of results and then itdifferent from people to people. The politics is too high, and your luck will depend on your supervisor and his ties with the dean. The HR Dept is slow and unethical. Half day app will be cut, if you are more than 5 mins late to punch in. Sometimes even if you punch in your attendance they will cut your pay and you can't do anything about it.
