Since I was the GM of the Catering section . and the company was new to this trade ,I was given full freedom, I was free to select a good dependable team who were very loyal and happy to work long hours initially and had the hunger to compete with the Mother company [sweets and savoury] salaries and incentives , appraisals were on track. regular on the job training , transfers to their city , near by their home town all this were motivating the staff. Since they were growing with the brand name growth all staff were enthusiastic and had apetite to grow further. Of course there was politics within the two departments. namely the sweets staff and the catering staff. but it was balanced and also helped to compete with each other. what we started as a small eaterie grew up to full fledged multi cuisine restaurant with turnover sometimes overtaking the sweets sales....Read More

Well after five , six years the expansion was too fast and the pressure in getting geniune staff was becoming hard,Staff strength grew steadily and the total salary looked big, Along with this politics took the front seat, friends and well wishers grew in numbers and advice started pouring from different quarters to the directors.Especially the compititors . Increment in Salaries slowly converged in percentage which discouraged the efficient staff. staff strength grew because of too many recommendations from Md s friends - inefficient staff % grew along with it.Naturally frustration and unhappiness creeped in.Steadily the facilities and allowances provided were cropped or cut totally....Read More

1.Canteen food worst 2.management worst for Accounts 3.Only recommendation are 1st preference For increments. 4.In accounts department only people need to stay back and work till 7 to 8pm forced to work. 5.In Sunday are forced to come by management. 6.if worked till 7 or 8pm no over time pay. 7.Accounts are not properly maintained so many internal issues for completely audit.
