Less to no recognition if you want to work solely on technical side. People doing less hands on but participating in other engagement activities would get more rewards and recognition. Some employees having 4-5 YoE are promoted to Senior Data Scientist/ Managers and others having 6-7 YoE are still working as DS. No career growth without politics. Some teams have too much work on their plate leading to poor WLB. No clear path for gaining technical expertise. Management focuses on selling the more solutions to the stakeholders rather than building good ones. Managers will ask you to attend more stakeholder calls to get recognition and thus a mover rating.
