Vir Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute Of Medical Science and Research, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal is first government college of Uttrakhand. Medical Council of India has given permission for admission of 100 M.B.B. S students in June 2008. Situated in scenic environs on the banks of river Alaknanda in Srinagar , Pauri Garhwal , this is the state of art medical college providing latest in medical teachings. Medical college aims to house well equipped facilities like laboratories for various departments like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology etc. Every department has latest equipments in laboratories, research labs, and departmental libraries along with latest audio visual teaching aids. The three lecture theatres have sitting capacity of more than 140 students each and are equipped with latest teaching aids. The computerized central library which is spread over three floors stocks more than 8400 latest books on all walks of medicines. It also has internet facility along with multimedia teaching aid.
