- The chief executive of United Utilities, Louise Beardmore, defended her £1.4m pay packet despite the company being found to have polluted more than any other water firm in 2023.
- United Utilities plans to increase consumer bills by 32% over the next five years to help fund a £13.7bn investment plan, while United Utilities CEO, Liv Garfield, expressed disappointment over an increase in pollution by Severn Trent water and committed to reducing dry-day spills.

United Utilities and Pennon to increase dividend payments as water bills rise
- United Utilities and Pennon have announced plans to increase dividend payments to investors as they prepare to raise household water bills.
- The companies have accepted the regulator Ofwat's determination on bill increases, with South West Water set to raise bills by 23% and United Utilities by 32% over five years from April.
- Pennon will increase its dividend in line with inflation, while United Utilities plans to raise its dividend after paying out around £340m to investors in 2023-24.
- Both companies are not facing the same financial pressures as struggling counterparts and may still face appeals to charge customers more.

Clean water campaigners claim victory in Windermere sewage case
- United Utilities has withdrawn its legal battle to block public access to data on treated sewage discharges into Windermere in the Lake District.
- The company initially claimed that the data was not environmental information but the Information Commissioner's Office ruled that it should be disclosed.
- Campaigners argue that the illegal dumping of sewage by water companies is a growing issue and want Labour to support ending discharges into Windermere.
- United Utilities has invested £75m to upgrade treatment works and pumping stations in Windermere and plans to invest an additional £200m for further improvements.
