Telkom SA is the incumbent telecom carrier in South Africa. The former government monopoly maintains more than 3 million access lines that provide local access, long-distance, and data network services for residential and commercial customers. Subsidiary BCX offers connectivity services to Enterprise customers, Telkom launched its own mobile brand in 2010 called Telkom Mobile. The company also publishes telephone directories and other e-services through subsidiary Trudon. The government of South Africa is the biggest shareholder and owns 39% of Telkom.
