Saraswati Vidya Mandir was started in 1976 with the noble intention of providing quality education to children from underprivileged backgrounds. The founders, Mr. Vilas Shankar Pawar and Mrs. Shobhana Vilas Pawar, realized that there were very few municipal schools in the remote Bhatwadi area and children had to travel long distances to get education in an English medium school. To address this need they started Saraswati Vidya Mandir (English Medium) in their own home with just a few students.
