- After his PhD, he moved to Paris for his postdoctoral research at ESPCI Paris where he worked on an Origin of Life project based on RNA self-replication in water-in-oil emulsions.
- Sandeep returned to India and became an independent campus fellow hosted by the Simons Centre for the Study of Living Machines at National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) to set up work on RNA network evolution.
- Currently, Sandeep's research group at Ashoka University aims to construct 'life-like' chemical systems and also focuses on analysing the dynamics of functional RNAs in the complex microenvironment of LLPS droplets.
- The article highlights the challenges and triumphs faced by Sandeep, his focus on interdisciplinary research, and collaborative work centered around the emergence of life on Earth and other planets.
