In the particular office I worked in, there was diversity of talent and energy in people as it was a new setup. It was a bit mad due to so many different backgrounds, but it was easy to get more done from same number of people due to this vibrancy and have new ideas. L&T S&L had a lopsided compensation package - over 35% of my CTC was paid through post-paid shares (stocks), with a further 2 years service demanded after these shares were released. I joined Kolkata office with a long term perspective. But when their office was discontinued at Kolkata in little over 2 years and I chose not to takea transfer and instead left the job (i.e not a normal resignation), I was denied by employer of 1 year of shares and then further refund part of money for the year I had taken shares...because the Company enforced the "2 years of service after due date of shares" clause. This, after investing 11-12 hours every day (no OT) to set up the office as team lead and then HOD. L&T S&L did offer me a position with same pay at new location (which is a LOSS) but that was it. They qualify as bad employers to me for making employees face such severe financial loss for THEIR OWN inability to sustain an office at a location! I was a a project Lead engineer for C&S discipline. I also worked as department head for latter part of my association while functioning as full time project lead engineer.
