PF Withdrawal Via ATMs: EPFO Likely To Issue Separate Cards; System Expected To Be Rolled Out Soon
- The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is planning to issue dedicated cards to subscribers for withdrawal of their funds through ATMs.
- The new system, expected to be rolled out soon, will facilitate the withdrawal of provident fund via ATMs following a hardware upgrade by the EPFO.
- Efforts are being made to bring systemic reforms that make processes easier and efficient, including allowing the heirs of deceased subscribers to use ATMs for withdrawal after claim settlement.
- The EPFO aims to modernize its systems to provide services at par with banking systems, bringing more transparency and ease of claims for its subscribers.

EPFO to activate UAN of employees via Aadhaar-based OTP
- EPFO has mandated the activation of Universal Account Number (UAN) via Aadhaar-based OTP for employees.

- The government aims to simplify delivery processes and ensure transparency and efficiency with Aadhaar as proof of identity.

7.6% rise in EPFO subscribers, 7.8% increase in claim settlements
- A total of 4.45 crore claims were settled by EPFO in 2023-24, showing a 7.8% increase compared to the previous year.
- The number of EPFO subscribers has increased by 7.6%, reaching 7.37 crore in 2023-24.
- The number of firms covered by EPFO has also increased by 7.6% to 7.66 lakh in 2023-24.
- EPFO has witnessed a 55.5% rise in realisation of arrears from contributing establishments.
