DKT INDIA

DKT is one of the largest private providers of family planning and reproductive health products and services in the developing world, serving 22 million couples in 2011. DKT India is an affiliate of DKT International, USA. It was established in 1992. Since 1989, the nonprofit organization DKT International has been promoting family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention. DKT has 19 programs in 18 countries and in 2011 provided and sold 650 million condoms, more than 72 million cycles of oral contraceptives, and over 14 million injectable contraceptives, 1 million IUDs, and 12 million misoprostol pills. Last year, DKT’s efforts prevented 7 million pregnancies, 11,000 maternal deaths, and 1.4 million abortions. In June 2011, DKT received a coveted honor by being named as #1 in Charity Navigator’s list of top 10 consistently excellent charities. For the sixth year in a row DKT also earned Charity Navigator’s four-star rating.
