COTTON ON GROUP From market start up to global brand, the Cotton On Group now has 8 brands, over 1,300 stores and 19,000+ passionate people working in 16 countries around the globe. In twenty years we have become Australia's largest value fashion brand. It all started in the late 80's. Nigel Austin, our founder, grew up in Geelong with strong family ties to the rag trade. At age 18 Nigel’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in - armed with a pile of denim acid wash sample jackets, he headed to the Beckley Market in Geelong and set up shop. In 1991 our first retail store opened in Geelong. From these humble beginnings, we’ve taken our spirit to the globe. We foster innovation, new ideas and a will to succeed. The story is far from over.
