Job Description:

• Safety Officer to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. primary role will be advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Vigilance in identifying violations is crucial.
• Conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments of buildings, facilities, or premises to identify potential fire hazards, assess risks, and develop appropriate control measures.
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
• Performing emergency response drills and participating in emergency teams.
• Issue fire safety certificate renewal upon compliance of all the mandatory requirements.
• Give bi-annual declaration that fire prevention, life safety and fire protection measures provided in the building or premises are operational, in place and in efficient working condition.
• Carry out bi-annual emergency mock drills and maintain record of the same. During the mock drill, provide basic information to occupiers and other security/maintenance staff with respect to basic fire prevention, fire-fighting and related aspects.
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.
• Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
• Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
• Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
• Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers compensation claims.
• Preparation of MIS and conducting the monthly review meetings along with team to strengthen the EHS systems.
