Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Sales Analyst to join our dynamic sales team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to help drive business growth and sales performance.

This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work cross-functionally with sales teams, and the ability to leverage data to drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Data Analysis & Reporting:

- Analyze sales performance data, including revenue, sales volume, and trends, to assess business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Prepare and deliver regular sales performance reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting key trends, achievements, and areas of concern.

- Evaluate sales forecasts, monitor performance against targets, and provide insights to adjust strategies or tactics as needed.

Sales Performance Metrics & KPIs:

- Define, track, and analyze key sales metrics and KPIs, such as conversion rates, sales cycle lengths, win rates, and average deal sizes.

- Create and maintain dashboards for real-time performance tracking and reporting to enable data-driven decisions.

- Collaborate with sales leaders to ensure sales targets and metrics align with business objectives and are achievable based on historical data and market trends.

Market & Competitive Analysis:

- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand market trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies.

- Provide insights on potential market opportunities, emerging trends, and threats to inform sales strategies and tactics.

- Monitor and analyze competitor performance and positioning, offering recommendations on how to adjust sales strategies to stay competitive.

Sales Forecasting & Trend Analysis:

- Develop accurate sales forecasts based on historical data, market conditions, and sales pipeline analysis.

- Analyze sales data to identify emerging patterns, customer purchasing behavior, and potential risks.

- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to sales and marketing teams to optimize forecasting accuracy.

Support Sales Strategy & Planning:

- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support the development and execution of sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns.

- Provide insights into sales pipeline health, customer segmentation, and lead generation efforts.

- Support the creation and optimization of sales territory plans, quotas, and incentive structures to maximize revenue generation.

Sales Process Optimization:

- Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and recommend improvements to streamline workflows and increase productivity.

- Collaborate with the sales enablement team to ensure that tools and resources are effectively utilized by the sales team.

- Monitor sales pipeline activities, ensuring that sales reps are adhering to processes and using data-driven strategies to close deals.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

- Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and product teams to provide insights that inform cross-functional initiatives and drive business growth.

- Assist in the development of sales presentations and proposals by providing relevant data and competitive intelligence.

- Liaise with finance teams to ensure accurate tracking of revenue, commissions, and performance metrics.

Sales Training & Development:

- Share insights and best practices with the sales team to improve their understanding of key metrics and how to leverage data in their daily activities.

- Support sales leadership in the development and delivery of training sessions related to sales data, performance metrics, and reporting tools.

Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

- A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.

Experience:

- 6+ years of experience in sales analysis, business analysis, or a related field

- Proven track record in analyzing sales performance data and providing actionable insights to drive business performance.

- Experience with CRM tools (e., Salesforce), data analytics platforms, and reporting software

Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex sales data and identify key business insights.

- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas), with the ability to manipulate large datasets and create meaningful reports.

- Knowledge of sales metrics, KPIs, and performance analysis techniques.

- Strong understanding of sales forecasting, pipeline management, and trend analysis.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e., Power BI, Tableau) to create clear and effective dashboards and reports
