Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Group Product Manager is an individual contributor role in the marketing function of the Companion Animal Business Unit

Strategy and Planning

  • The Group Product Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and sales strategy for the organization s strategic group of products or an individual product franchise.
  • Key responsibilities include brand and portfolio management with development of brand plans and implementation of marketing strategies for Vets, new product launch, market research, forecasting, data analysis, budgeting, pricing, long term product life cycle planning and KOL management.
  • Coordinate, liaise and work closely with the global therapy area focused center of excellence (CoE).
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, market and sales data to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint expected.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing would be an added advantage for digital direct to consumer initiatives
  • Ability to evaluate inputs from creative agencies and guide them to produce brief specific outcomes.
  • The person in role will work in close collaboration with medical, regulatory, finance, supply chain and other support functions.
  • The Group Product manager is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with veterinary health care professionals (Vets, Pharmacists, Vet Hospitals)
  • Support in delivering strategic messages and marketing programs to the field force that fit into the context of the Solution Selling model

Business Unit Support Relationships

  • Work closely with Medical, Learning Development teams on the delivery of high quality technical and product training content for Field Force
  • Contribute to the success of the business unit by role modelling best practice with colleagues, proactively welcoming ideas, sharing successes and enabling the team to do the same across the business.

Education:

  • Master s degree in veterinary medicine is required, PhD is preferred
  • Current passport
  • IT literate. Able to use standard business software and communication tools , presentation skills

Experience:

- Graduation in Life Sciences, Veterinary Sciences with MBA in marketing.

- Current passport

- Strong IT skills. Able to use standard business software and communication tools , presentation skills

- Work Experience: Should have sales experience.3 to 7 years of experience in animal health or pharma brand management.

Language: Strong written, and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to evaluate inputs from the creative agencies and guide them to produce brief specific outcomes. Knowledge of multiple local languages will be an added advantage.

Other Skills : : Performance driven, strategic, excellent analytical and strategic skills with ability to influence without authority, being a strong team player with execution excellence.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular monthly travel within India for field work, internal review meetings and medical conferences.
  • Occasional international travel as per need
