Job Description

Vice President - Balance Sheet Accounting - Asset Management Firm - CA will Leading Asset Management firm in Mumbai.

- The Reporting Production team is responsible for producing the financial statements for Insurance reporting. The reporting team has responsibility for financial, statutory and regulatory reporting.

- The balance sheet and revenue/ expense team is responsible for maintaining and verifying the accuracy of all related line items in the financial statement, ensuring that each entry reflects the true financial performance and position while ensuring the adherence to both UK GAAP and IFRS. This team is tasked with staying abreast of changes and updates in accounting standards and regulations and implementing necessary changes to financial reporting processes and controls to ensure ongoing compliance.

- We are seeking an experienced Accounting lead to oversee the Balance sheet or Revenue & Expenses teams within the Insurance Reporting Production team, the lead will ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reports that comply with regulatory and accounting standards. The role demands a proactive approach to managing and mitigating risks associated with producing financials, as well as the ability to review the accurate recognition of revenue and expenses and measurement of assets and liabilities, effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders and support strategic decision-making within the organization.

Experience & Educational Qualification:

Knowledge & Skills:

- Working knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II and UK GAAP (or the equivalent) reporting

- Knowledge of regulatory Solvency II is advantageous

- Leadership and people management capabilities to guide the team effectively during the demanding reporting periods and ensure adherence to the stringent deadlines

- Ability to guide the team through transitions and maintain productivity

- Adept at building relationships at all levels and has confidence communicating with a variety of stakeholders

- Ability to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial reporting, ensuring that all financial statements reflect the true financial position

- Ability to contribute to strategic planning and decision making

- Openness to innovation and encourage creativity in the team

Experience:

- Experience of leading the production and delivery of financial reporting of a life insurer

- Familiarity with local regulations, particularly Solvency II, is beneficial, though not required

- Experience in accounting for With Profits products and its complexities (advantageous)

Educational Qualification:

- Chartered accountant qualification (CA) or the equivalent

Internal:

- Reporting Analysis team

- IFRS 17 Production team

- Internal data suppliers; Finance Operation, Core actuarial team, etc.

- Change /Development team

- Group Reporting team

- Internal audit team

- Finance technology team
