Software Development Manager

Role & responsibilities

• In this role, you will build high performing data-engineering teams and help bring out the best ideas from the best engineers by empowering them and leading by example
• You will create shared-vision, build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships / alignment with teams across the business (e.g. Analysts, Product Management, Program Management, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance)
• Collaborate with different teams, understand their data needs and help drive shared vision on the roadmap, architecture and timelines
• Providing technology leadership to the team as well as mentoring, training and managing the daily activities of the team
• Proven expertise in Python, Advanced Python, version controlling system, PDB, OOP in python, Java script.
• Apply knowledge and expertise to provide technical support and ensure resolution of production / critical issues seamlessly.
• Deliver product as per roadmap and customer specific projects as per plan. Liaise with Release Mangers and ensure that delivery is on time.
• Plan and prioritize - allocation of resources, client deliverables, and support/product issues.
• Identify and ensure to generate appropriate reports for coding standard, code review, peer review, unit tests, and test case reviews etc.
• Liaise appropriately, identify gaps in development life cycle, analyse and come out with possible solutions to improve efficiency/ process.
• Participate is solution discussions. Involve required resources in the group to make sure impacts are analysed.
• Design - Do impact Analysis, create design spec as per high level design, create test plan to develop/validate/maintain the application as per the requirements
• Monitor and ensure 100% peer code review process.
• Talent/Competency Management - Mentor the team to develop their design and development skills, Participate in hiring process. Ensure inducting the new employee to the team and bring up to speed. Train the reportees on estimation process. Coach; mentor Development Leads to take next role.
• Participate in performance reviews, share feedback, coach and mentor performance.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 9+ years of experience in relevant technology and industry
