Senior Python Developer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Improve upon the existing software services and tools in place to equip them to be scalable to handle 10x the IoT data traffic that Zenatix currently supports
• Exploit current micro-services architecture for future development of new applications
• Mentoring junior members in the team.
• Advocate using the best architecture practices and strive to get them implemented.
• Improve upon the existing processes around code reviews, reducing code baggage, testing, hiring, documentation etc.
• Evaluate what modern technologies we should use, matching the business context with the recent technology developments
• Set aggressive timelines and work within the team as well as with external teams (hardware/ product) to ensure that timelines are met

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants must have:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in CS/ECE.
• Deep expertise in Python with development experience of at least 3+ years.
• Experience with python web frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, Tornado, Twistd
• Good Experience with Git or any other VCS.
• Understanding of and prior experience with Asynchronous task management and Threading.
• Good understanding/experience of Docker.
• Sound understanding and experience in architectural principles and patterns including Microservices.
• Experience in writing effective Unit Testing or use of TDD.
• Good understanding of algorithms and data structures along with experience of putting them into practice for gaining code efficiency.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision

Good to Have skills:

• Experience with Go
• Prior experience of DevOps (CI/CD pipeline; managing containers etc.)
• Prior experience of developing the IoT technology stack
• Prior experience with Linux (Shell Scripting, Networking, Debugging)
• Understanding of MQTT and VPN networks
• Familiarity with Protocols like BACnet, Modbus, LoRaWAN, etc
