Roles and Responsibilities of a Sales Engineer

1. Pre-Sales Activities

• Understand customer requirements and identify how products/services meet those needs.
• Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Work closely with the sales team to develop sales strategies.
• Assist in preparing proposals, tenders, and RFPs (Request for Proposals).
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create sales materials.

2. Sales Support

• Address technical questions and concerns from potential clients.
• Recommend solutions based on customer needs and budget.
• Act as a bridge between the sales and engineering teams.
• Conduct product trials, proof of concepts (PoCs), or pilot projects.

3. Customer Relationship Management

• Build strong relationships with clients and provide ongoing support.
• Offer training to customers on product usage and best practices.
• Handle customer feedback and communicate it to the product development team.

4. Post-Sales Activities

• Assist in the implementation and integration of products/services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for customers.
• Provide after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.

5. Market and Product Knowledge

• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and advancements.
• Provide feedback to R&D teams for product improvements.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
