BIOS/UEFI Development Engineer (Semicon-Embedded Design)

We are looking for an experienced BIOS/UEFI development engineer with a deep understanding of x86 architectures and embedded software systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in working with BIOS codebases, including AMI, Insyde, or Phoenix BIOS, and will have experience with the open-source coreboot project and related platform porting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience in x86 BIOS/UEFI development and associated compilation tools.
• Expertise in C language, and hands-on experience with platform bring-up.
• Familiarity with at least one BIOS codebase (AMI, Insyde, or Phoenix BIOS).
• Experience with Intel FSP codebase and understanding of coreboot & FSP boot flow.
• Working knowledge of coreboot and FSP build tools and processes.
• Experience with coreboot payloads like edk2, SeaBios, Tianocore, etc.
• Ability to read platform hardware and processor specifications for coreboot mainboard porting.
• Understanding of UEFI framework concepts for porting UEFI code to FSP.

Additional Skills:

• Proficient in Git for source code management, reviews, and BIOS releases to QA.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with different teams for custom BIOS requirements.
• Strong understanding of industry standard protocols such as PCIe, SPI, and eSPI.
• Familiarity with specifications such as ACPI, SMM, and x86-64 architecture from a BIOS developers perspective.
• Good understanding of UEFI BIOS boot flow.
• Basic understanding of Linux Kernel and software development concepts (e.g., Kconfig).

Academic Credentials:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field from a reputed college.
• A Masters degree from a reputed university is a big plus.
