Multimedia System Design Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an AMD Multimedia System Design Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, India. This role focuses on Semicon-Embedded Design, with a strong emphasis on multimedia system designs, IP integration, and the development of multimedia applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in multimedia system designs involving IP integration, device tree customization, and the development of multimedia application demos using Gstreamer or BareMetal.
• Investigate customer issues and work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Review and update marketing collaterals involving multimedia IP.
• Support technical marketing teams with system design, validation, and content creation activities.

Desired Skills & Experience:

1. Hands-on experience with Gstreamer media framework, creating and building media pipelines.
2. Domain knowledge in Multimedia, Codecs (H.264/H.265), Color Formats, and Video Pre/Post Processing algorithms (e.g., scaler, mixer, color space conversion).
3. Good hands-on experience in Embedded Linux platforms, including:
• DRM/KMS (Direct Rendering Manager)
• V4L2 (Video for Linux 2)
• FBDEV (Framebuffer Device)
• Ability to work with these subsystems in user-space API.
4. MUST have working knowledge on hardware evaluation boards.
5. C++ programming knowledge (Good to have).

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with AMD FPGAs.
• Experience with standard video processing functions such as Scaling, De-Interlacing, Frame-Rate Conversion, and Tone Mapping.
