Assistant Consultant - Aquatic Ecology

At WSP we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Consultant - Aquatic Ecology to join our multidisciplinary team. Sitting in India you will become part of our dynamic UK Nature Services team. The ideal candidate will assist in the assessment, management, and restoration of aquatic habitat. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to vital ecological assessments and engage in collaborative projects that aim to enhance biodiversity and sustainability in aquatic ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the designing field surveys related to aquatic ecology, including water quality assessment, habitat evaluation, and biodiversity monitoring.
- Support the evaluation and analysis of collected data, producing reports and presentations that communicate findings to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Collaborate with senior consultants on projects involving freshwater and marine ecosystems, including restoration initiatives and conservation planning.
- Conduct literature reviews to support project development and stay current on emerging trends and best practices in aquatic ecology.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals .
- Maintain accurate project records and contribute to administrative tasks to ensure smooth project execution.

**Qualifications:**
- Masters in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field;.
- Experience in aquatic ecology, including familiarity with sampling techniques, data analysis, and species identification.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (eg, R, GIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
