Consultant - Safety Advisory

Job Description – H&S Consultant

• Basic knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulation.
• Provision of competent advice (either self or team resource advice), guidance and support across a range of occupational health and safety matters.
• Provide advice on how to meet CDM Regulatory and relevant EHS requirements.
• Identify potential hazards and constraints.
• Review and preparation of Pre Construction Information documents.
• Review of Design Risk Registers.
• Undertaking Construction Phase Plan reviews, Risk Assessment and Method Statement reviews.
• Review of Asbestos survey reports/Action plans.
• Attend Design Review Meetings.
• Basic knowledge of Safety in Design.
• Develop and deliver a range of health and safety training, including CDM 2015.
• Issue Health and Safety File to client following completion of construction works.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant skills and competence in delivery of Principal Designer/H&S /CDM services to a varied client base.
• Working knowledge and an understanding of engineering and construction managements and methodologies associated with construction works on Commercial and Retail developments.
• Working knowledge of the Principals of Prevention and CDM 2015.
• Proven post qualification experience in an industry/sector presenting complex risks.
• Membership of the Association of Project Safety (APS).
• Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, GradIOSH preferred, CMIOSH desirable, will consider TechIOSH.
• Reasonable expertise in construction health and safety services.

Essential.

• Quality Degree in a Health & Safety related discipline or equivalent or Engineering degree (B.E. Civil/Electrical/Mechanical).
• NEBOSH IGC
• Construction safety
• Strong organization Skills – ability to work independently and as a team and ensure communications are effective.

Excellent business English in both written and verbal.
