Job Description
- You will be working and supporting a range of highways schemes associated with highway drainage elements
- You will be responsible for producing drainage engineering designs / modelling and construction drawings independently for various UK schemes using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other relevant standards.
- You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time.
- You will coordinate inputs and outputs with other disciplines to produce an integrated design.
- You will guide and mentor junior team members to broaden and deepen their understanding of a subject to suit with the client requirements.

Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory Skills
- You should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of and experience of UK highway drainage including knowledge on SUDS features.
- Technical competency in Highway drainage, Storm water drainage as per UK standards
- You will be able to use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Micro Drainage, CausewayFlow, NavisWorks, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.
- Proficient in use of National Highways -UK common data environment like GeoStore, AVIS, HADDMS etc.
- Proficient in use of standard MS Office software
- Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope
- Able to liaise as necessary with the UK project team to deliver the schemes/projects
- You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills, and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems.
- Good written and verbal communication skillsPreparation of Development Drainage Strategies
- Proven track record of dealing with Clients and forging effective relationships in a professional and customer-focused manor.
Desired Skills
- Highway drainage solutions, application of SUDS
- MicroDrainage / CausewayFlow software usage
- Familiarisation with DMRB and CIRIA standards
- Detailing support on general arrangement drawings and CAD supervision
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or equivalent with good length of relevant experience.
- M.Tech in Hydrualics Water Resources Engineering or equivalent will be given preference.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Highway drainage and Storm water draianage
