Role Summary

WSP is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and delivery-oriented CAD Drafter to join our iCRC Team in Bengaluru to support the ground engineering, environmental and mining disciplines of the Earth and Environment Operations in Canada. Working together with the CAD team in Canada, the position will consist of creating technical reporting figures and design drawings meeting project deliverable requirements and company standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will have current Autodesk Certification in both AutoCAD and Civil 3D digital design applications, excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language and an educational background in one of the relevant fields of geomatics, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental planning/management or mining.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with multi-discipline project teams consisting of scientists, engineers, and consultants; understanding the project requirements and incorporating those requirements into your work.
Inputting field data and complete various basic data entry tasks.
Providing technical 2D drafting and 3D modeling and design support for project deliverables.
Preparing existing condition plans based on a variety of sources including topographic surveys, aerial drone surveys and satellite imagery.
Preparing technical figures for reports and engineering drawings for conceptual, tender and construction packages.
Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to global company standards, processes and best practices.
Continuous knowledge training to develop your technical skills and career.
Active participant in a global technical community of like-minded practitioners.
Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

Technician or Technology Certificate, Diploma or Degree in one of the relevant disciplines of geomatics, environmental, geotechnical, mining or civil engineering.
At least 2 years working experience in one of the relevant disciplines, where the primary work consisted of using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to draft technical reporting figures and/or design drawings.
Excellent computer skills with a proficient understanding of Microsoft Office applications and certification in digital design applications: AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
An understanding of the basic principles of drafting, geometry, design and geomatics.
Strong and effective oral and written communication skills in English language.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to following a prescribed set of global company standards, processes and best practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgent deadlines.
Strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to demanding work assignments.
Strong willingness to learn and drive to excel and thrive in an engaging, collaborative environment.

Desired Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

The following competencies, skills or qualifications will be considered an asset:

Proficiency using gINT, Bentley Open Ground Cloud (OGC) and OGC Civil 3D Extension.
Proficiency using additional digital design applications: AutoDesk Infraworks, Bentley MicroStation and InRoads.
