Senior Engineer - Mechanical (District Cooling)

Job Summary: WSP is currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer for District Cooling experienced based in its Banglore/ Noida office in India.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out complete design of District Cooling Plant and its related facilities and utilities which includes pipework and valve sizing, pump & chiller selection, head calculations, HVAC sizing, lifting equipment and filter selection, piping and mechanical equipment layout arrangement, space planning.
• Lead the design of district cooling plants, distribution networks, and customer connections.
• Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and hydraulic analysis to optimize system performance.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs, including piping, pumping systems, Chiller and heat exchangers.
• Responsible for the preparation of mechanical design calculations, reports and specifications.
• Familiar with hydraulic institution ANSI/HI standards.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings of the design projects and the preparation of the meeting records.
• Liaison and coordination with all applicable Local Authority Departments to obtain approval on design projects.
• Coordination with other WSP Middle East discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design projects.
• To be flexible to travel within the region when required to attend meetings or to take on site activities tasks of short durations.
• Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years of experience, within Middle East / KSA in a consulting firm.
• Must have strong technical experience in design of district Cooling Plant with deep experience in Middle East region applicable standards for the relevant authorities (i.e. NWC, Ammana, SBC, KSA Civil Defense etc.).
• Familiar with international standard such as Hydraulic Institution (HI), AWWA, NFPA and related industry practice regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Thorough knowledge of current technology; must be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
• Ability to establish and maintaining effective working relationships with staff/Team.
• Knowledge in sewage treatment works is a plus.
• Knowledge pumping station is a plus.
• Knowledge in carrying out surge analysis is a plus

Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
