Job Description

The Global Process Owner (GPO) will own the end-to-end accounting and close (A&C) process across all business units, functions, and geographies within Wood. The GPO A&C reports directly to the Senior Vice President Global Finance Services and will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of effective and efficient A&C processes, whilst leveraging the right people, functional, operational, and technical resources to ensure the process delivers the quality outcomes required by Wood.

  • Significant experience acting as a team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units and functional partners.
  • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
  • Current working knowledge and proactive in continuous learning of industry best practices and enabling technologies.
  • Ability to communicate, build relationships, trust and rapport with senior functional leaders
  • Significant experience in establishing and achieving challenging performance targets.
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies required to support large scale organizational change and transformation with a dynamic set of stakeholders.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deliver projects to the business and understand the support model required.
  • Experience with functional operating models, key processes, reporting structures, legal entity structures and how these are enabled within the system set up .
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle).
  • A strong systems design thinking, focused on user-centric design orientation, with an understanding of process integration across multiple complex systems.
  • Ability to develop, maintain key policies associated with the end-to-end process and a holistic understanding of the business at process level.

  • Owns associated standard global processes as well as any local process requirements within the respective workstream, including identification of any policy / control impacts which result.
  • Aligns Wood on process metrics and reporting.
  • Identifies and manages business risks and ensures business continuity.
  • Ensures compliance against the set process, feeding into regular assurance feedback.
  • Point of escalation for businesses, functions and geographies for concerns and issues within accountable end-to-end process.
  • Reinforces Wood culture and brand.
