AWS CloudOps Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities of a CloudOps Engineer (AWS Cloud)

1. Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based applications.
• Manage AWS resources like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Redshift, Transit Gateway, WAF, EKS, and IAM.

2. Automation & CI/CD

• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Automate deployment processes using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Develop scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate cloud tasks.

3. Monitoring & Incident Management

• Set up and maintain monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Implement logging solutions using AWS CloudTrail and AWS Logs.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.

4. Security & Compliance

• Ensure AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, security groups, and encryption.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and implement security patches.
• Maintain compliance with standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.

5. Cost Optimization

• Monitor AWS usage and optimize costs using AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Trusted Advisor.
• Implement auto-scaling strategies to reduce infrastructure costs.
• Identify underutilized resources and recommend cost-saving measures.

6. Disaster Recovery & Backup

• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Use AWS Backup, S3 versioning, and cross-region replication.
• Perform regular testing of recovery plans.

7. Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with DevOps, developers, and security teams.
• Provide support for cloud-related issues and infrastructure requests.
• Document processes, troubleshooting guides, and best practices
