About the Role :
As an Academic Counselor at Appin Technology Lab, you will play a vital role in guiding students through their academic journeys. You will provide personalized support, help students make informed decisions about their education, and assist them in overcoming academic challenges. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong understanding of academic programs and requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Provide academic counseling to students, helping them understand program options, course selections, and academic requirements.
- Assist students in developing academic plans and setting realistic goals.
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide support to help them stay on track.
- Identify students' academic strengths and areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate resources and strategies.
- Offer guidance on career planning and further education opportunities.
- Conduct informational sessions and workshops on academic topics, such as study skills and time management.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff,and other counselors to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Stay up-to-date with educational policies, programs, and resources.
Requirements :
- 1+ years of experience in academic counseling or a related role.
- Strong understanding of academic programs, admissions processes, and educational requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and the ability to relate to students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
