Quality Engineer
Location: Vadodara, Gujarat
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection protocols, and testing methodologies for electrical components and systems.
- Conduct regular audits of production processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality requirements.
2. Root Cause Analysis:
- Identify, investigate, and resolve quality-related issues using root cause analysis techniques such as 8D, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to design corrective and preventive actions.
3. Testing and Validation:
- Oversee testing of electrical systems and components, including performance, safety, and reliability testing.
- Develop test plans and specifications for new products and modifications to existing products.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality assessments, inspection reports, and testing data.
- Prepare and present reports on quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to management and stakeholders.
5. Supplier Quality Management:
- Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming electrical components, conducting supplier audits and assessments as necessary.
- Implement and monitor supplier quality improvement programs.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean methodologies and Six Sigma principles.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in quality engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the electric vehicle or automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and automotive quality standards.
- Proficient in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA, control plans).
- Experience with statistical analysis software and quality management systems (QMS).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or specific industry-related certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
is a plus.
