Industrial Engineer

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

PLANNING

• To plan and applies statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards
• To plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization

OPERATIONAL

Industrial Methods

• To develop labour standards by analyzing work samples and methods; measuring work performance
• To reduces waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommending changes; establishing procedures to identify and analyze waste.
• To improves work flow by studying process flowcharts; recommending modifications in work flow, work stations, and product; developing new procedures; recommending equipment modifications and purchases.
• To review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
• To develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
• To draft and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.

Labour Booking

• To ensure labour booking which includes checking daily dockets of workmen, ensure punching of the same, follow up for timely, missing dockets

Suggestion Scheme

• To design and implement suggestions scheme for workmen
• To monitor running the suggestion scheme and rewarding workmen
• To evaluate the suggestions received, and select the best suggestions’ in discussion with the senior team, and ensure implementation of such suggestions
• To manage documentation, and MIS reports pertaining to Suggestion scheme

Coordination

• To liaison with purchase regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
• To coordinate production department for knowing manufacturing capabilities, and project status
• To communicates with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
• To coordinates quality control and production to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.

Cost Management

• To track Industrial Engineering cost and ensure adherence to the prescribed budget
• To reduce company costs by initiating cost saving measured through innovative ideas and optimum usage of resources

MIS and Reports

• To maintain and update industrial engineering data
• To ensure SAP is updated regularly and accurately by the team.
• To prepare MIS as and when required, in line with the format
• To prepare any other report as and when required

DEVELOPMENTAL

New Technology

• To Implement work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
• To develop new processes / techniques and introduction of new methods to ensure reduction in emissions / wastages / energy consumption and ensure cost control
• Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.

Team Management

• To complete work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
• To carry out performance appraisal of the team member and identify training needs and areas of improvement
• To create succession for self and key roles in the department
