Tool Design Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage tool design activities from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality tools.
• Oversee tool room operations, including maintenance, repair, and storage of tools and equipment.
• Lead the design and development of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing and production.
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
• Oversee projects from concept to production, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, etc.).
• Manage and mentor the tool design team, fostering innovation and technical expertise.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.
• Identify and implement process improvements for tool design and manufacturing efficiency.
• Stay updated on the latest tool-making technologies and trends.
• Prepare and manage budgets for tool development projects.
• Optimize designs for cost-effective manufacturing.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all designs and development processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in tool design and development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques.
• Candidate from Fasteners Industries will be preferred more.
