MEP BIM Design Engineer / BIM Modeler (Team Leader)

Role & responsibilities

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of MEP BIM Designers and Modelers.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and plan upcoming
activities.

BIM Project Management:

• Manage the development and delivery of MEP BIM models, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Establish and monitor project timelines, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
• Coordinate with the BIM Manager to align team outputs with overall project goals.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall design.
• Lead coordination meetings to resolve clashes and optimize design efficiency using tools like Navisworks.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to address design changes, challenges, and updates.

Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure adherence to company and industry BIM standards, such as ISO 19650, ASHRAE, NEC, and IPC.
• Develop and enforce internal workflows and processes to maintain consistency and quality.

. Conduct regular quality checks on BIM models and associated documentation.

Training and Development:

• Identify training needs for team members and arrange appropriate upskilling sessions.
• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and industry trends, sharing knowledge with the team.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and review project documentation, including clash detection reports, progress reports, and material take-offs.
• Ensure accurate as-built documentation is completed and submitted at project handover.
• Maintain comprehensive records of design changes and project milestones.

Technical Expertise:

• Provide advanced technical support and guidance to the team on complex MEP modeling tasks.
• Identify and implement innovative BIM solutions to improve efficiency and reduce design conflicts.

. Review and approve detailed drawings, layouts, and fabrication details for HVAC, electrical,
plumbing, and firefighting systems

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills

. Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and BIM360.

. Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting) and their
integration into building designs.

. Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IPC, and IS.

Certifications: Relevant BIM certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.

systems.
