Job Title: HCC Medical Coder

Location: Hyderabad, India

Job Type: Full-time / Permanent
Shift Hours: The applicant should be available to work a 9-hour shift (Monday to Saturday)
Experience: Minimum 1 year in any HCC projects required (Not applicable for freshers or below 1 year experienced candidates)

HCC Coder Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 codes.
• Map diagnoses to Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) to facilitate accurate risk adjustment.
• Ensure adherence to coding guidelines, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to obtain necessary documentation and resolve coding issues.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and completeness.
• Stay current with updates to coding standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provide coding expertise and support to team members as needed.

HCC Coder Requirements:

• 1+ year of recent HCC coding experience post-apprenticeship
• Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent preferred
• Proficiency in ICD-10 coding, HCC categories and risk adjustment models
• Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical abilities and effective communication skills
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Previous experience in HCC projects like CHC, CIOX , Apixio, Virtix health and Aetna will be an added advantage.
