Position: Senior Farm Manager

Location: Rose Valley Collective, near Denkanikottai (About 65 kms from Bengaluru)

WeCommunities is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Farm Manager to lead and oversee farming operations at our farm developments near Bengaluru. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a forward-thinking organization committed to sustainable agriculture, community development, and innovation in farming practices

Job Responsibilities:

• Farm Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day farming activities, ensuring the farm runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with agroforestry and natural farming methodologies.
• Crop and Livestock Management: Lead crop production, irrigation systems, pest management, and livestock care. Ensure optimum yields while maintaining sustainable farming practices.
• Team Leadership: Manage a diverse team of farm workers, providing mentorship, training, and leadership to enhance productivity and employee satisfaction.
• Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage farm budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources, cost control, and maximizing profitability.
• Sustainability and Innovation: Implement sustainable farming practices and new technologies that improve productivity, environmental impact, and resource management.
• Quality Control: Ensure the quality of produce meets both internal and external standards. Oversee harvesting, processing, and packaging.
• Reporting and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all farming activities, implement safety standards, and ensure compliance with local regulations and certifications.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing and customer engagement, to ensure efficient farm-to-customer operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in farming operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of crop production, irrigation systems, pest control, livestock management, and farm machinery.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team, fostering a positive work environment.
• Education: A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with farm equipment maintenance and modern agricultural technologies.
• Sustainability Focus: Strong understanding of sustainable farming practices and their implementation.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Proficiency in English and Kannada is required.

Job Conditions:

• Should be willing to work on Saturdays and Sundays
• Must own a 2/4-wheeler with a valid driving license
