Job Description
- As an Accounts Executive/Supervisor, your role is to oversee and manage the day-to-day financial activities and accounting processes of an organization
- You work closely with the Accounts Manager or Finance Manager to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards
- Here are some key responsibilities associated with this role:Financial Record Keeping: You maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management
- You ensure that financial transactions are properly documented, coded, and recorded in the accounting system
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: You oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- This involves reviewing and approving payment requests, monitoring outstanding invoices, and following up with customers/vendors to ensure timely payments/receipts
- You may also reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: You assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes
- This includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting
- Financial Analysis: You conduct financial analysis to provide insights and support decision-making
- This may involve analyzing revenue and expense trends, assessing profitability, and preparing financial reports and presentations for management
- Budgeting and Forecasting: You contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial data and analysis
- You assist in the preparation of budgets, monitor budget performance, and provide variance analysis to identify areas of improvement or concern
- Compliance and Audit: You ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures
- You may assist in the coordination of external audits and internal control assessments, providing necessary documentation and support
