Development Manager (JAVA)

Job Description:

• Work with the technical lead and scrum master to define development processes and technical standards for the development team.
• Review development team output ensuring adherence to defined processes, standards and industry best practice.
• Oversee development teamwork planning, execution, and delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies and follow-on process improvements in collaboration with stakeholders .
• Coordinate with external agencies where required to manage outsourced development work.
• Manage a team of Developers, including performance evaluations, career development, and coaching.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Handle conflict resolution and provide support to team members in overcoming challenges.
• Collaborate with senior management to align team goals with organizational objectives.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to guide team innovation.

Qualifications & Preferred skills:

• Bachelors or masters degree in related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in people management role.
• Extensive experience in using Java and managing Java Development teams.
• Knowledge of web development. Knowledge of React would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to balance technical expertise with strategic thinking and people management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
