A CCTV (closed-circuit television) operator monitors surveillance cameras to prevent crime and protect people. They work in a control room, watching live footage from multiple screens. Monitor CCTV screens for suspicious activity
Alert security or police to incidents like theft, vandalism, or anti-social behavior
Operate camera positions to focus on areas of interest
Maintain logs of incidents and pass them on to police
Record, store, or edit digital footage as evidence
Conduct investigations into incidents
