Postgres SQL Developer

Virtusa Consulting Services Pvt Ltd is looking for Postgres SQL Developer to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using PostgreSQL. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical designs and specifications. Develop database schemas, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures using SQL and PostgreSQL-specific features. Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data manipulation, retrieval, and performance tuning. Perform database optimization and indexing to enhance query performance. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies. Collaborate with application developers to integrate databases with application code. Participate in database design reviews and provide recommendations for improving data models and structures. Conduct database testing and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables. Document database designs, data models, and technical specifications. Stay updated with the latest features and advancements in PostgreSQL, and recommend improvements to optimize database performance and reliability. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Developer or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts. Proficiency in PostgreSQL database management, including database design, querying, and performance optimization. Experience in developing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Familiarity with PostgreSQL-specific features, such as JSONB, hstore, and full-text search. Understanding of database indexing and query optimization techniques. Knowledge of database security best practices. Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools for data migration and integration. Familiarity with database version control systems, such as Git or SVN. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders, including business analysts and application developers.
