Senior Network Engineer

Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure solutions for enterprise environments.


Evaluate and select appropriate hardware and software technologies for network upgrades, expansions, and projects.


Develop network architecture blueprints, including logical and physical diagrams, for future-proof designs.


Network Implementation & Configuration
Configure, install, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.


Deploy network infrastructure upgrades and manage the configuration of network services (eg, IP routing, VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP).


Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of network solutions with business systems.


Network Security & Monitoring
Implement and maintain robust network security protocols (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, VPN, etc.

).


Monitor network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks or outages.


Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the network infrastructure.


Troubleshooting & Support
Provide advanced troubleshooting support for network-related issues.


Analyze complex networking problems, diagnose issues, and implement solutions quickly to minimize downtime.


Work with vendors and third-party service providers to resolve network issues.


Documentation & Reporting
Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.


Provide detailed reporting and analysis on network performance, including capacity planning and incident response metrics.


Collaboration & Team Leadership
Collaborate with IT leadership, project managers, and other engineers to design and deploy network solutions.


Mentor junior network engineers and provide guidance on best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.


Lead or participate in projects to enhance network infrastructure and overall system efficiency.


Network Optimization
Continuously analyze network traffic and performance metrics to optimize performance.


Recommend improvements in network architecture and design to support business growth and technological advancements.


Vendor Management
Interface with vendors to evaluate and select network products and solutions.


Manage vendor relationships and service agreements to ensure compliance with SLA requirements.

Additional certifications in network security (eg, CCSP, CISSP) are a plus.

Five plus years of hands on experience as a network engineer, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.


Extensive experience in configuring and managing networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls (eg, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet).


Experience with enterprise-level network designs and troubleshooting complex network issues.


Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL), and network management systems (eg, SolarWinds, PRTG).

Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, MPLS, QoS, and SD-WAN.


Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN.


Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (eg, Python, Ansible) is a plus.


Knowledge of cloud networking platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is desirable
