Engineering Manager - Software Development (9-13 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Manage large software development efforts and cross-functional scrum teams

- Facilitate Joint Application Design Sessions, Scrum Planning Sessions, Daily Stand-ups, etc.

- Collaborate with product managers, product owners and scrum coaches to achieve well defined release plans

- Define software development standards and engineering disciplines

- Provide leadership in implementing and enforcing industry best practices for software development

- Evaluate and communicate project risks in an appropriate and timely manner to stakeholders

- Foster continuous improvement using tools and engineering metrics

- Hire and on-board new personnel - support staff development

- Conduct performance evaluations, coach and counsel team members

- Provide an environment where engineering innovation and continuous learning can thrive and team commitment flourishes

Ideal Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent work experience

- 10+ years of experience in software industry.

- 6+ years proven track record of technical expertise in software engineering

- 5+ years in software development leadership capacity

- Deep knowledge of the architectural and technological tenets (API first, cloud native, microservice based, data driven, event driven, etc)

- Extensive experience with enterprise software platforms and a thorough understanding of large-scale system nonfunctional characteristics (e.g. performance, scalability, availability, etc.)

- Deep knowledge of the core platform technologies (JAVA Spring, React, React Native, iOS/Android, etc.)

- Experience with Agile methodologies

- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong resource planning and management skills

- Strong interpersonal relationship skills

- Strong leadership
