Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all hard goods comply with relevant regional and international safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Stay updated with changing regulations and ensure timely compliance.
Testing & Certification:
- Develop and manage testing protocols, coordinate with third-party laboratories for product validation, and ensure that products meet brand and regulatory standards for certification.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain robust quality control processes throughout the product lifecycle, including conducting supplier audits, risk assessments, and routine product inspections to ensure consistency and quality.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate compliance records and technical documentation. Generate detailed compliance and testing reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with product development, sourcing, and legal teams to integrate compliance and quality standards into product design, sourcing, and manufacturing processes.
Training & Advisory:
- Provide ongoing training and guidance on compliance best practices, emerging regulatory requirements, and quality assurance procedures to internal teams and suppliers.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or regulatory affairs within the hard goods industry.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of hard goods manufacturing, testing, and certification processes, including standards for product safety, quality, and environmental impact.
Regulatory Knowledge:
- Familiarity with international standards and certifications such as IS, IEC, ISO, UL, CE, RoHS, and REACH, and an ability to apply them effectively to hard goods products.
Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex compliance and quality-related issues effectively.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear and efficient information flow.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Management, or similar fields would be an advantage.
- Experience in working with international teams and across multiple regions.
