Position Overview: The Credit Control Officer will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and controlling credit extended to dealers. The role includes reviewing payment histories, tracking instalments, and ensuring timely collections to maintain a healthy cash flow. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders while enforcing credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Credit Analysis and Approval:
• Review and analyze dealer creditworthiness by assessing financial data, payment history, and other relevant factors.
• Assist in setting credit limits for dealers based on risk analysis and company policies.
• Conduct periodic reviews of existing dealers' credit terms.
• Instalment and Payment Monitoring:
• Monitor dealer instalments and ensure timely payments as per agreed credit terms.
• Maintain accurate records of payment schedules and outstanding dues.
• Follow up with dealers for pending payments, overdue instalments, and reconcile accounts as needed.
• Debt Collection and Recovery:
• Actively follow up on overdue payments, implement collection plans, and reduce bad debts.
• Negotiate repayment schedules with dealers where necessary while maintaining company interests.
• Escalate critical issues and non-compliance cases to management promptly.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare credit reports, outstanding payment summaries, and aging analysis for senior management.
• Maintain a systematic record of all credit approvals, rejections, and payment transactions.
• Generate regular MIS reports for better decision-making on dealer credit.
• Policy Implementation and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to company credit policies, payment terms, and collection protocols.
• Recommend improvements in credit policies based on business needs and market analysis.
• Assist in developing strategies to mitigate credit risks effectively.
• Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers to ensure smooth communication and dispute resolution.
• Coordinate internally with Sales, Accounts, and Management teams to address dealer concerns.
• Risk Management:
• Identify potential credit risks and flag high-risk accounts for proactive measures.
• Assist in resolving disputes related to invoicing, payment delays, or credit terms.
• Analyze market conditions to anticipate changes that may impact dealer credit behavior.

Qualification: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Masters degree is a plus).

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in credit control.
• Financial Analysis and Risk Assessment and Knowledge of Credit Laws
• Problem-Solving Skills and Debt Collection Expertise
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of credit risk management principles.
• Knowledge of financial analysis tools and debt recovery strategies.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP HANA) and MS Excel.
