Role Description :
This is a full-time on-site role based in Bengaluru for a DevOps Engineer at Vikgol. The Technical Support Engineer will provide a highly effective, proactive, and responsive applications support service to all queries and issues, ensuring that the applications/systems operate efficiently, reliably, and to agreed SLAs and KP
You shall be responsible for application availability, performance tuning, 1st and 2nd level support, and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities :
- Production support at a product/service company
- Deep understanding of the challenges encountered in providing a support service across multiple time zones and the ability to resolve and mitigate such challenges
- Experience in service delivery and/or L2/L3 Support management with a proven track record of delivering a first-class customer-focused support service
- Experience in working and supporting applications hosted on Microsoft Azure or any other cloud infrastructure
- Experience in supporting mission-critical web applications with high business transactions and a large volume of users
- Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
- Comfortable working in a roster schedule and being flexible in terms of working hours
- Support needs to be provided via email, WhatsApp, and other communication channels
- Daily reconciliation of pending transactions.
- Accountability of their task from end to end
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
Experience :
- 4+ experience in production support/application support at a product/service company
- Must have experience in any scripting language like Python etc.
- Excellent in SQL queries and understanding of database (MySQL)
- Knowledge of the challenges encountered in providing a support service across multiple time zones
- Strong background in service delivery and/or L2/L3 support management
- Experience in working and supporting applications hosted on Microsoft Azure or any other cloud infrastructure
- Experience in supporting mission-critical web applications with high business transactions and a large volume of users
- Experience working on tools like Jira, Zoho, etc., having a working knowledge of ticketing tool
- Comfortable working in a roster schedule and being flexible in terms of working hours
Competencies and skills :
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have the following competencies and skills :
- Bash Scripting or Python
- MySQL
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux
- Tools : Jira/Zoho, Nagios, Git, putty, telnet etc.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good to have :
- Basic knowledge of Java
- NoSQL database like MongoDB
- Knowledge of cloud like AWS or Google
